Energy Solutions HVAC stands behind every installation and service we perform. To ensure transparency, we provide two distinct warranties that protect different aspects of your HVAC system. Please review both carefully so you understand exactly what is covered, what is not, and what is required to keep your warranties valid.
1. Manufacturer's Equipment Warranty
Your new HVAC equipment comes with a manufacturer's warranty that covers defects in major components. This warranty is provided by the equipment manufacturer — not by Energy Solutions HVAC — though we will assist you in filing and processing any manufacturer warranty claims.
Coverage Duration: Up to 10 years from date of installation (varies by manufacturer and component).
What IS Covered:
- Defective major components such as compressors, heat exchangers, and coils
- Replacement parts shipped by the manufacturer for covered defects
What IS NOT Covered:
- Labor to diagnose, remove, or install replacement parts
- Shipping and freight charges for replacement parts
- Applicable taxes on parts or services
- Refrigerant, electrical components, thermostats, or accessories not classified as major components
- Damage caused by improper use, power surges, acts of nature, or third-party modifications
⚠️ IMPORTANT: ANNUAL MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENT
Most manufacturers require documented annual professional maintenance to keep equipment warranties valid. Failure to maintain regular service records may result in a denied warranty claim — even if the equipment is still within the warranty period.
Energy Solutions HVAC strongly recommends enrolling in our Preventative Maintenance Membership to ensure your equipment receives the required annual service and that all maintenance records are properly documented on your behalf.
Without proof of annual maintenance performed by a licensed HVAC professional, the manufacturer reserves the right to void the equipment warranty at their sole discretion.
2. Energy Solutions Parts & Labor Warranty
In addition to the manufacturer's equipment warranty, Energy Solutions HVAC provides our own Parts & Labor Warranty covering the quality of our installation and service work. This warranty is provided directly by Energy Solutions HVAC and is completely separate from the manufacturer's warranty.
Coverage Duration: 1 to 2 years from date of completed installation or service, as specified in your individual contract or proposal.
What IS Covered:
- All parts and materials used in our installation or repair work
- All labor required to correct installation or workmanship issues
- Shipping, freight, and applicable taxes on warranty repairs
- Issues arising from improper installation, incorrect sizing, faulty wiring, ductwork connections, refrigerant charge, or other workmanship deficiencies
What IS NOT Covered:
- Defects in manufacturer equipment or components (covered under Section 1)
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or unauthorized modifications by others
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect system performance
- Issues caused by pre-existing conditions not identified during original scope of work
3. Warranty Comparison at a Glance
The table below summarizes the key differences between the two warranties that protect your HVAC investment:
| Manufacturer Warranty | Parts & Labor Warranty | |
|---|---|---|
| Duration | Up to 10 Years | 1–2 Years |
| Parts | Major components covered | All parts used in install |
| Labor | NOT included | Fully included |
| Shipping & Tax | NOT included | Fully included |
| Maintenance Required? | YES – Annual service required | NO |
| Who Provides Service? | Filed through Energy Solutions | Energy Solutions directly |
4. Maintenance Requirements & Warranty Eligibility
Proper maintenance is essential to the performance, efficiency, and longevity of your HVAC system. It is also a condition of maintaining your manufacturer's equipment warranty.
Required Maintenance Schedule:
- Heating System: Professional inspection and tune-up once per year, ideally before the heating season (fall).
- Cooling System: Professional inspection and tune-up once per year, ideally before the cooling season (spring).
- Air Filters: Replace or clean per manufacturer recommendations (typically every 1–3 months).
Consequences of Missed Maintenance:
- The equipment manufacturer may deny warranty claims if annual maintenance records cannot be provided.
- Energy Solutions HVAC is not responsible for denied manufacturer claims resulting from lack of maintenance documentation.
- The Energy Solutions Parts & Labor Warranty is not affected by maintenance records; however, issues caused by owner neglect (such as failure to replace filters) are excluded.
✅ RECOMMENDED: PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE MEMBERSHIP
Our Preventative Maintenance Membership includes annual inspections for both heating and cooling systems, priority scheduling, discounted repair rates, and — most importantly — documented service records that satisfy manufacturer warranty requirements.
Ask your Energy Solutions representative for membership details and pricing.
5. How to Request Warranty Service
If you experience an issue that you believe is covered under either warranty:
- Contact Energy Solutions HVAC by phone at (925) 778-1335 or email to report the issue.
- A technician will be dispatched to diagnose the problem and determine which warranty applies.
- Parts & Labor Warranty: If the issue is related to our workmanship, repairs will be completed at no charge during your warranty period.
- Manufacturer Warranty: If the issue is a manufacturer defect, we will file the warranty claim on your behalf. Parts will be covered by the manufacturer; labor, shipping, and tax will be billed to the homeowner.
6. General Terms
- All warranty periods begin on the date of completed installation or service as documented on your invoice.
- Warranties are non-transferable unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by Energy Solutions HVAC.
- Energy Solutions HVAC reserves the right to repair or replace at our discretion when fulfilling Parts & Labor Warranty claims.
- This warranty document supplements — and does not replace — the terms of your individual installation or service contract.
- Any modifications or exceptions to these warranty terms must be documented in writing and signed by an authorized Energy Solutions HVAC representative.
